"Dating services are such a pain," thought Desmond. He had been using one for more than two years now... ever since his last girlfriend died from an overdose in some drug. He was done trying to scavenge a real woman from the mess around his town. Only thing was, there didn't seem to be anyone out there for him on dating services either.

Sitting and chatting with friends at the lunch counter of their favourite diner, Beth wasn’t at all surprised when the topic of discussion turned to relationships. It generally did. Beth had a rather miserable relationship history and, honestly, many times she never got beyond a first date. A lot of times, the evening would end with a quick hug and “Thanks for dinner – nice meeting you!” as she watched the man get into a waiting cab. She knew, deep down, that she didn’t make a good first impression. She was incredibly shy and nervous with men and her personality never came across in those initial meetings. I met a wonderful girl in an internet dating site and this weekend I am planning to propose to her. Itshardtobelievethat when the internet dating site first matched us up Ididn'teven take a second look at her profile, I looked at the picture once saw an average looking girl and passed on to the next profile. I actually ended up getting to know one of my other matched and went on a few dates with her. It was after I got bored with her and was flipping through my past matches that I once again saw her picture and this time took the time to actually read her profile. I think it was then that I fell in love with her. Her profile was funny and witty and spoke of suchstrengthand intelligence that I knew that I had to meet his girl, I knew that I had to have her in my life somehow.

I grew up in a home that was full of computers and there was always someone on the Internet and it didn't matter what time of the day or night. My father was in to website flipping and he would buy websites off of people for a cheap price and change anything that needs changing to bring people to the site and then sell them on for a higher price. My mother owned her own online shop selling customised clothing for people and my brother owned a couple of dating websites and forums. I was never really in to that side of computers until a lot further on in my life as all i wanted the computer for was playing games when i was younger.

I was never a fan of dating site but one night as I was surfing the web I came across a really cool site that caught my eye. It was for a dating site but not one of those dating sites that you see promoted everywhere, it was a site that I had never heard of before. I really liked how it didn't talk too much about mushy things, it was not geared toward finding your soul mate or future spouse for more for meeting someone to go out with and have fun. A lot of the other dating sites I have seen seem scary because all that they advertise if finding the love of your life and so on and a lot of us, especially younger people are not looking for that yet. We still want to have fun and enjoy our selves and we just need a place to meet other people that are looking for the same thing and I had never before found any dating sites that proved that for us without so many of the other pressures.
