Painting the bedroom had seemed like a good idea when she first though

Painting the bedroom had seemed like a good idea when she first thought of it. Chelsea wanted something beautiful, something that would really tickle her fancy every time she walked through the door. It was her first apartment and she wanted living on her own to be fun and exciting. Now, elbow deep in cans and rollers, painting was really far less than attractive. However, now that she had started the job, she had no choice but to finish it.

Chelsea had lived at home longer than most of her friends. Many of them were already married and one was expecting her first child. Chelsea wasn't ready for that kind of commitment. She was enjoying her young ife, dating and meeting new people. She had been with a few men in a semi-serious way but none of them were able to hold her attention in a lasting way. Chelsea was a beautiful woman but she a little flighty. She was prone to let every itch and tickle distract her and she wasn't good at seeing things through. Hence, her current predicament with her bedroom. She had no desire to keep painting but she also couldn't live in a half white, half trendy mocha room.

She decided to take a break and make a sandwich. While she was in the kitchen, her phone rang. She answered and it was Kurt, one of her best friends since childhood. "Hey beautiful! How's it goin'?" Kurt asked. Kurt was one of those friends that could always bring a smile to Chelsea's face or make her laugh until she cried. He was especially proud of knowing exactly the spots to tickle her so she'd squeal at him to stop. "Oh... it could be better," Chelsea groaned, "I'm painting my bedroom and it's not fun." Kurt laughed because, like everyone else, he knew that Chelsea always bit off more than she could chew. "Well, I was going to ask you to go grab a burger with me but maybe I better come over and give you a hand instead!" he laughed. Chelsea was happy to accept his offer and promised to have a sandwich and a beer waiting when he got there.

About twenty minutes later, the doorbell rang but Kurt never waited to be let in. He breezed into the kitchen where Chelsea was standing. In spite of being friends, something about Kurt always took Chelsea's breath away. Admittedly, he was gorgeous. Friends are friends, though, and she always respected those boundaries. But today, in his sleeveless shirt and baggy shorts, standing there wolfing down his sandwich, Kurt looked more appealing than ever. After a couple swigs of the beer, he tipped the bottle at her and said, "Shall we head to your bedroom, young lady?" Chelsea wondered if he noticed her blush and was glad he couldn't possibly know what she was thinking. "After you sir," she replied, and watching him walk into her room for the first time, Chelsea couldn't help but realize that it wasn't going to be the last.
